Yes, they were rising before Floyd's murder and after Abbott's directive.
Most of the protesters were wearing masks. Tho not the ideal situation if you aren't wearing a mask outdoors, but still, "fresh air dilutes the virus to a degree that transmission is much less" and there's some slight evidence that direct exposure to sunlight kills the virus. All of this is quite different than encouraging people to crowd into indoor tight situations - misplacing capitalist concerns over public health and safety. So, yes, Abbott should take responsibility. |

A new thing that’s going on here is the medical community has been trying to make all the switches they can to zoom but now insurance companies won’t pay for zoom visits to save money from people afraid to go in.
I’m trying to follow-up on my hernia and it’s a real cluster****. My job needs a doctor to clear me when I said I had that diagnosis. Trying to get in or make contact with anyone is the runaround. And I’m afraid to work in a crowded poorly ventilated kitchen, where the masks have become optional, anyway. I can’t get past my fear of it. It’s like you just have to accept it to survive. Feels barbaric. Distressing. Everyone is in the same boat basically but I’m so anxious. I spent the morning calling doctors but I’m giving up on the afternoon. I’m just going to read and listen to music.
