Semi-related

I know a Vietnam vet who became completely paralyzed after a bad interaction of some kind with a flu vaccine. Which sucks because 99.9% of everyone else could take it and likely be just fine. It's the people who get ****ed by something that breed skepticism that snowballs into anti-vaxxer rallies.
