You're allowed to have opinions and we're allowed to be facetious. Yeesh.

Closures won't be the sole answer to the virus. Businesses (which can get ****ed anyway) will see a negative impact from this and some people are being dramatic, but now's the time for action in a pandemic situation with a virus that can potentially evolve in an explosive and dangerous way.

I felt that I brought up a valid point about the efficacy of the response long term, and got nothing but sarcastic responses back from people who aren't willing to have a serious discussion about the long term plans here. Therefore, they don't deserve a serious response in return.

Nothing I said contradicts itself. People are allowed to be facetious to my seriousness, and I'm allowed to be facetious to their facetiousness.

I'm as qualified as you or anyone else in here, if you don't want people's individual opinions posted, maybe you should instate a rule where only facts are allowed. Otherwise it comes across as a little hypocritical to be telling me to shut the **** up for taking a position, when everyone else has does the same on the other side (the side you happen to be on).

My personal take is China is obviously scared af of it and if China is scared of it so am I.

As for it being another flu well it’s more contagious, deadlier, and there’s no vaccine.

If you get a bad case you develop viral pneumonia with lesions on your lungs and that doesn’t sound like a fun way to die. Especially if there’s so many cases you don’t even get a hospital bed. And the more it spreads the more it’s going to suck money out of every other kind of care.

And if the rest of the world shuts down but we carry on with basketball and hockey games like we’re doing we’re going to have to face the ire of the rest of the world for our selfishness.

I also can’t see what’s wrong with slowing the **** down anyway. This world needs to take a rest.

If you can't be told to stfu every once in a while on this message board, you might wanna find a new message board. I'm not telling you to do anything. I'm am, with words, presenting you with a sock, and advising you where to shove it.

I'll provide actual reasoning behind this if you want. Yes, people are freaking out over this. They're buying up toilet paper and fighting over tissues. Those people should cut it the f*ck out. Yet, this is a serious matter. Your flu statistics are what really set me off in your direction because you reading a stat sheet serves no purpose in this matter. There are people who have dedicated their lives with the same stats as you, probably better ones at that, who are closing borders, cancelling events, and advising the populous to stay the f*ck home. Odds are that young and healthy people will be fine but you'll still get it and if you don't stay the f*ck home, you could end up giving it to somebody who will die.

There's no inbetween with this. It's highly contagious and will spread. Who are you going to spread it to?
