Exo makes a good point, and I think the operative word in your question, Norg, is "a few" (okay, two operative words!) - if only a few people haven't taken it and have not got sick, how many people do you know (or don't know) who haven't taken it and have got sick or died, as Exo says? I guarantee you it's a far, far higher figure than the few of your friends who have struck lucky. And it is blind luck. If you're not taking the vaxx, you're essentially standing in the street and saying to the virus "Come on you bastard! Take me! I'm ready!" (possibly while waving an automatic rifle around, who knows?) and the only reason they're still alive may be because the virus has shrugged and said "Nah, not really in the mood today."
I mean, it's stupid, but your question really is one of the most glaringly stupid ones you've asked since "why don't the Ukrainian civilians just leave the towns before the Russians bomb them out?" I said it before, and I will now repeat what I said: sigh.

I wasn't vaxxed and caught two variants. Sickest I've ever been on the 2nd one. I got vaxxed as soon as I was able to and haven't been sick since. Throw that into the blender.

I lost a friend to covid. He wasn't vaccinated. He had some worries about side effects he could very possibly suffer from. He got caught in a catch-22 situation.
On that note, there was a story last week about a guy who won a settlement after some side effects from a vaccine affected him horribly. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...yout-1.6472636 |

I have another friend suffering one effect from long covid. She has some nasty inflammation in an elbow.
My family and I caught omicron in January. Thankfully, it passed through us all without any horrible consequences. |

No new mask mandates
So the people and businesses of L.A. county pushed back on the director of public health who wanted to impose a new mask mandate. She caved, and said it was not necessary. I'm sure the data was manipulated to show declines in hospitalizations, just like the data was manipulated when Gavin Newsom was facing a recall last year, and all of sudden mandates were lifted everywhere magically. No coincidence. It's all political, all about control....it has nothing to do with safety. When will these woke liberals ever learn???? The fact that the governor and the mayors were all silent on this new possible mask mandate, shows they didn't want to upset the people if they were for it.
