Ireland is about to get back to normal!
All restrictions, other than mask wearing, are lifted from 6 tomorrow morning (so about six hours from now). No more need for social distancing, full crowds back in sporting arenas, no early closing in pubs or restaurants or clubs. Is it too soon? Are we being overly optimistic? Time will tell, but for now, it's good to feel that "normal" may be on the way back...

When Lisna tells me he told me so, then we'll know this nightmare is over. But for now, we see.

I've no doubt you're right. However although there has been a small amount of vaccine/mask resistance here, it's been quite minimal and as a result our numbers are way way down and not getting much worse. With Omicron seeming to cause less serious symptoms there are, hopefully, reasons to expect or believe that there will be less and less deaths (hopefully none) from Covid, and it may very well be the right time for us to not quite throw caution to the wind, but at least pick it up and consider hurling it. This explains our government's position.

Anybody want to shed some light on whether I can leave Covid Isolation yet?

Tested positive through an antigen test on Jan 17th, a week ago. My only symptoms are a very intermittent cough and stuffy nose in the morning and at night. I have never had a fever.

I am fully vaccinated and boosted.

It's Day 7 and I just tested positive with another antigen test but I'm passed the CDC five days with no fever and my symptoms have definitely "improved" since last week.

What do I do?

This is so f*cking annoying.

I would say wear a mask and try to avoid any close interaction with people for the next few days. I think the general rule is that you stop being contagious after 10 days from the first symptoms. :/

What state are you in? Isn't there some helpline you can ring, or am I just bringing realities that exist outside of America to a place where they're completely foreign? Someone should be able to guide you, surely? What does your doctor say?

It is confusing, you're right. But this seems to apply to you:

Ending isolation if you had symptoms
End isolation after 5 full days if you are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and your symptoms are improving.

Other than that, it just says "take precautions" for 10 days, which I assume means wear a mask, keep your distance and don't have unprotected sex. Maybe.

I'd say you're fine to go out as long as you mask up, but again I'd talk to your sawbones first.

Americans don't have doctors. We have coroners.
