I've been wondering what's in store for us in the years ahead, and specifically if, after the Omicron peak, we will be going back to the Delta virus again. I'm happy to say that one of the sanest voices on the topic of Covid says "No".

Here once again is my Covid guru, Dr.John Campbell, explaining in detail some new graphics, and towards the end, answering my question:

Bottom line if you don't want to watch it all:
After Omicron, Delta will be gone and any other worse mutation is very unlikely to arise. Covid will be an endemic health risk no worse than flu; i.e. it will kill a certain number of the old and vulnerable each year, but will not impact our lives beyond that. So, cautiously, Great News!! (plus apologies to the old and vulnerable)

Call me a skeptic but I'll believe it when I see it.

^ Do you ando? That's nice to know. I like him for his unhurried, detailed explanations. I also like how he's always in the same room - like he's a teenager who's been sent to his room by his parents.

Tested positive this morning.

Wasn't feeling great yesterday and tested in the morning. I have a few leftover at home tests from Christmas. That test was negative but I only really had a dry throat and it's so cold here that I thought it was just me blasting the heat for the first time this year really. Last night I had a headache but I figured that was because I was so stressed from the 49er game.

Then I woke up with a hoarse throat, coughing, sneezing, and a runny nose. Took another test, popped positive almost immediately.

I got back from Savannah on Saturday. Looks like I caught it there but luckily my lazy ass didn't wanna do anything yesterday and I stayed home so I won't be accidentally transmitting this bitch.

I get another week off from work I guess.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that, Exo. I hope your symptoms just stay as you describe and disappear in a few days. I'm sure you're all vaxxed up, so statistically, that's about what should happen.
Good luck, take care, and keep us posted.

Tripled vaxxed so if this thing blossoms into anything other than a week vacation, I'm going to feel screwed.

At least you will have time to read more English language books.
