Yet all my friends in town for the holidays want to get together and chill.

I'm talking about the leadership actually. I think the general population has pretty much had enough and I'm sure that goes for the entire planet.

You’re saying the leaders are panicking
or are you saying the leaders are wackos?

All I can tell you is what is going on in Maryland. Our county executive (I live literally just outside Baltimore), is invoking the mask mandate for starters. That, in itself, isn't a big deal since most of us were voluntarily doing that anyway, but now they're talking about shutting down the schools again and discouraging large crowds. Of course, it would be a lot easier of people would just get their freaking vaccines, but I think it's safe to say that isn't going to happen.

I think basically the leaders (on both sides) are just being politicians. I think it's a little bit of panic but, yeah, some of them are a bit wacky too, Marjorie Taylor Greene coming to mind.

Their end is near? I thought that was just builders and plumbers!

You know what isn't tired? Covid. I've no sympathy for these people who say "we've had enough". It doesn't matter. Do what needs to be done, get used to it or get used to seeing the inside of an ICU, possibly a coffin. Simple enough. This isn't going away any time soon, and I imagine a lot of epitaphs may end up being "Here lies [insert name]: got tired of protecting themselves and others. Sadly missed etc."

I know what you're saying, Trolls, but we can't keep living in our caves forever. We will have to figure out how to live with this as safely as we can. It's such a tragedy that this didn't have to be to begin with but that's whole different story altogether.

Ah yeah I get that, but look at how Omicron is sweeping across the world. I was genuinely scared going out for my one visit a week to do the shopping today, and I always have the mask on. It's not that I'm not fed up with it too; of course I am. But we don't have a choice. Bad comparison I know, but do you think the people in London got fed up of bombs falling on them in the Blitz? Yet they couldn't say "No, to hell with that I'm not going to the air-raid shelter. You won't trample on my freedumb. I choose to remain and not comply - what's that whistling sound....?"
