The problem worldwide seems to be that nation states are not on the same page in terms of handling this thing, despite the CDC’s advisories. The UK is easing restrictions while France is having an ICU crisis; India and Brazil (the 2nd and 3rd biggest numbers of cases/deaths) seem to be headed off a cliff while people in the US (the most infections/deaths) are going back to party time. I can’t post any more updates. It’s absurd. The vaccines, which were supposed to be the biggest mitigators, just seem to be making people complacent with regard to precautions. And I’m not sure if the F••k it! attitude will yield much good, either. I’d like to have a brighter outlook but it doesn’t seem to be going well at the moment.

Very bad news. Michigan's in trouble.

I got my first covid vaccine a couple of days back; AstraZeneka, which made me feel so weak I could do little except sleep for 24 hours. Since then I have bounced back to almost normal pretty quick.

Public vaccine prog for over 60s is rolling out very efficiently in Mexico so far. I went to a temporary local station and was done in one hour.

I'm glad to hear you're being vaccinated, lisna! Hopefully the second dose will be less harsh

Glad to hear you received your first jab, Lisna. Hope all goes well with your second vaccine. I've had my first and second vaccines (Pfizer) and experienced a similar reaction both times - fatigue and headache for the first 24 hours, then bounced back to feeling fine very quickly.

Thanks for your good wishes ribbons. I'm glad to hear that you're now fully vaccinated; after your daughter's encounter with coronavirus you really deserve a rest from covid-anxiety. She's alright now, isn't she?

Thanks so much, Lisna. Yes, she's totally recovered and healthy and has resumed her workaholic ways.
