Exactly what I was thinking, though I was going to go for the Homer "I need a gun, I'm mad now!" gif You should have shouted "I have Covid! Get out of the way!" ****ers. My fervent wish (and I'm serious) for everyone who knowingly, willingly and ****ing selfishly refuse to follow Covid safety protocols is that they all, every one, contract it. And die.

Question:
At the moment supplies of the Astrazeneca vaccine are in short supply in Europe; they're blaming it on supply chain but the upshot is there will be nowhere near as much as we had all hoped, at least not in the short term. Assuming you are healthy with no underlying conditions, IF the vaccines had to be rationed, would you be willing to forego yours in order that someone who needs it more (older, sick, disabled etc) could get theirs, or do you think **** them I want my vaccine? Just wondering. Also, would it make a difference if you were paid NOT to get it, at least right away, so that those who need it could? I'd be interested in everyone's reactions, especially to the second part.

As a front line worker it would be pretty stupid to wait.

I will take the vaccine as soon as it’s made available to me and leave the rollout rules and logistics to the experts.
Even if the rollout isn’t even really run by experts the real goal is herd immunity. I say just get it in your arm ASAP. It’s good for you and good for society. If I don’t get covid I can’t spread it. On the other hand, I’d never try to jump the line. Just follow the rules. That’s what I think. ****, we got health care workers refusing it. I’m not adding to that cluster****. It ain’t no good sitting in the freezer.

yeah I've read somewhere that refusing the vaccine is a bad idea, even if you think others need it more. That makes sense to me; there are experts planning who gets the vaccine first, why would people intervene with that?

Well, because as I said, we're now getting a lot less than we should be, at least in Europe, so it surely follows that there'll be less to go around? It won't matter to me; as someone in the very lowest of categories - unless the fact that I care for my disabled sister becomes a deciding factor - I don't expect to get any more than the very last dregs, and I'm okay with that as long as she's immunised.
