But yes, you can die. Nobody is taking this seriously enough.
I went out yesterday to pick up my cat from the vet (that's what I would consider an essential journey; he had been there for nearly two weeks and was better and ready to come home) - down in a taxi, masked of course, into the vet, get the gen on Eddie, pay, call a taxi (mask always on at all times) get the taxi, into it with Eddie and me, home, away from the scary world till Friday when I'll poke my nose out at 8:00 AM to go do the shopping for the week. One hour and I'm home and done. Masked always, goes without saying, or it should.

The point is, while I waited for the return taxi, and on the way there and home, so many essential journeys being undertaken! Cars jamming the road, buses, vans, trucks, motorbikes, ****ing BICYCLES! You'd think there wasn't a lockdown on.

And, like, there is. As our hospital admissions and cases skyrocket and we head towards over 2000 deaths.

Jesus.

Yeah I mean I think those ****wads turn their noses up at Queens.

One of the most read news stories in the NYTimes was about the Trump kids not being invited to interact with the social elite in Manhattan. It’s just like how the **** could anybody ****ing care? I don’t know if my point is clear but I’m saying these people consider it a horrible fate not to get invited to certain parties like they’re still in high school. In the midst of all this **** that was on the top of the “most viewed” articles for weeks. And now that **** has even spread to Brooklyn. Like Park Slope and wherever. God watch your back in Queens. They’ll be coming for you next.

White upper middle class culture in NYC is pathetic. They are the biggest ****ing crybabies I have ever seen. Bitch about school being closed. Bitch because they can’t have brunch. Refuse to even quit having brunch even after 40,000 deaths statewide most of them right in their bitchy ass city. I used to think New Yorkers were more sophisticated than than the dip **** rubes around here but they’re exactly the ****ing same.

First there was all this **** about I’m gonna keep walking in the park. Jogging on the sidewalk. Riding my bike. It’s like yo you stupid yuppie gentrifying ****s do you know what airborne means?

You have to ****ing sacrifice. That doesn’t mean just do what you feel like you can. It means doing what you HAVE to do.

I said it from day one.

No you can’t go for a walk. You can’t go for a jog. You can’t ride your bike. You can’t get brunch. You can’t go to a sporting event. You can’t go to school.

How the **** hard is it to stay home and watch Netflix for a few weeks because that’s all it would have took to stop this goddamn thing.

And **** every New Yorker coming down here to “winter”. ****ing spoiled *******s.
I totally agree about brunches, school, and any events, and I've locked myself inside when I needed to quarantine for 2 weeks, no issue. But apart from that I do go outside for walks and runs, making sure I keep out of people's way. I'm not locking myself in for the entire duration of the pandemic. There is a balance; there is a small risk but not going outside at all is unhealthy as ****, at least for most people.

I like how the Chinese deal with it. They catch you on facial recognition breaking the rules. Then they brand a U on your ass and you’re spending the rest of your life in the latest Uighur “jobs program”

Yes. But it would have only taken a few weeks to contain it if people just weren’t selfish ****s. Keep the numbers low and then use contact tracing. SARS MERS Ebola Measles Outbreaks TB Outbreaks. Westerners couldn’t stay inside just for a ****ing week. No sense of social responsibility.

Sure, and ironically the fact that they're too spoilt to make those sacrifices for a few weeks contributes to the fact that we're still in this mess after a year. Just saying lumping people walking or running together with brunches is unfair.

Well I think you kind of live on the outskirts where it’s possible to give people a wide berth. I’m really, in this case, talking about Manhattan in particular. I would still frown on it, but if you live in Manhattan and want to exercise, put your mask on and walk to Central Park. It’s huge and granny doesn’t have to go there to get her pills. Not everyone, but a lot of New Yorkers have a very me me me attitude when it comes to spreading their wings on the crowded sidewalks that simply have to be shared. A lot people kept jogging and cycling in those tight areas that people with high co-morbidities HAVE to use. Honestly, I think you’re very far removed from the type of people that get me so pissed. If people took your level of social responsibility we’d have this thing contained. It’s just that so many people wouldn’t give a goddamn inch that I’m inclined to advocate killing the whole ****ing lot of them.

UK reaches grim milestone of 100k deaths.

Johnson should resign.

yeah I don't live on the outskirts of town but there's enough room if you take care, it's not New York. Also it helps that I live near a very large park. Some people don't give a **** though; last week I was running in the park on a road which is wide enough, but 3 guys were walking side by side so I couldn't pass distantly. They saw me coming, didn't move, so I said 'come on, make some space' and they just made those dismissive whiny woman mimicking noises and still didn't move. That really pissed me off on so many levels, luckily it was an exception.
