I didn't necessarily give up on it it's just not my main focus. I tried to vote. I follow politics. But I'm not waiting for politics to improve my life.

You can mock it as bootstraps Jordan peterson lobster logic all you want but I've seen meaningful improvement in my life over the past few years from doing the hard thing and actually putting forth some effort. Maybe it's hard for you to relate but I've seen way lower lows than I think you have. It actually gets much worse than being a wage slave believe it or not. And I believe it can also get better.

IT IS. Lost a roommate to Covid. My advice is to get tested ASAP. And, of course, isolate, experiment with home remedies and take care. Vitamin D3 and Zinc!

Thanks. Course it was awful. She did have underlying conditions (fairly chronic asthma) but worst of it was dealing with NYC hospitals, which at the time (last April) were swollen to the limit with positive cases. Treatment was universally poor, including that for my roommate (who had great insurance. Folks without insurance were routinely ignored). No one wants to endure that sh*t on top of being sick.
