Why would they need to do that? Just say the Trump Magic words: "We are rounding the corner!" and that virus will run away like the little bitch it is. Anyway masks kill more than they save, don't you know that?

You know, I don't get it. Thanksgiving was a near-Apocalyptic event. USA just avoided being all but wiped out by cases. Now, having not quite dodged the bullet but it only having winged them, American people are going to let it finish the job by travelling in their millions again for Christmas? Aint'cha learned nothing??
It's not just you: same over here. The govt is intending to put in new restrictions after Christmas. I mean, what? The damage is going to be done in a week's time, not after it! They're talking "we need to have these measures in place for NYE. Again, what? How many people travel for New Year's? Yes, there are parties, but you really think a lockdown is going to stop those? Christmas is when people travel, therefore the most dangerous time, so we'll let you do that but HEY! AFTER THAT you gotta settle down, hear? Maybe it's easier for me, as I don't have much in the way of visitors to contend with or decide about, but my sister (other sister) asked me what I wanted to do for Christmas - did I want her to visit? If so, she said it would be "just you and me out in the car park, exchange gifts, quick chat". So I said it would be better not to take the risk, even for something a simple and potentially safe as this (we'd both be masked of course) because there would be no point us both bemoaning why we did it after Karen had got sick and, the Great Pixie forbid.... Why can't everyone think in those terms? I want to see person or people X but I don't want to make those people sick or have them die, so **** it I'll stay home? No, it's all I'm going no matter the cost, to me or them. **** that. Common sense has gone right out of fashion. Controversial perhaps, but I really think those who flout the rules deserve to die, and if it could be proven that they had not followed the proper precautions, **** them when they come to be treated. Turn them away from the hospitals. Leave them for those who need and deserve them. As someone once said, let them die and decrease the surplus population...

It has nothing to do with common sense. When you get down to the community / individual level with people, they all believe that they themselves are the exception to the rule. They put on a mask, sanitize their hands a few times and think to themselves "Well a lot of other people died but I'm smart so I won't die."

Next time, world, please listen to me, I promise we won’t need to kill hundreds of thousands. About fifty will do fine. Trolley Problem.

I'm not advocating killing them - I'm not mini-hawk - but if there's a choice between say two people being treated, one of whom took the proper precautions and got sick (maybe even not with Covid), the other who scoffed at masks and got the virus, then I say the latter is left without treatment. If they want to pretend they're immune, invincible or that the virus doesn't exist, why should you get any help when it slaps you upside the head and says HEY ****WAD! I'M REAL! YOU GET IT NOW?? **** them I say.

A consistent message would have been nice but the sheer capitalist inhumanity was across the board politically and economically. He was a leading light in murdering us but he absolutely was was not an anomaly.
