I became a hip-hop fan before I could appreciate jazz - Tribe introduced me to Ron - I've never had the chance to see him in concert though - how was he?

He was sharp as hell. Had a great band with him. Dude still rips it and he does the quiet sh*t too which isn't always a crowd pleaser but this was at the Blue Note in NYC so the crowd was seasoned and shut the F up.

Nice! I'd love to see him live at some point - he's getting older, so the sooner the better, I live in New England, so generally my best bet is usually Boston.

I was supposed to see Christian Scott but he cancelled a week before and they got Ron to fill the slot. I was actually more excited to see Ron Carter than Scott. Not sure how often he plays or if this was just a once in a while thing. I'm sure he still plays a lot or at least did before Covid.

Honestly have never heard of Christian Scott - what would be your recommended album to someone who's never listened to him?
