It’s hard to say tbh. If American billionaires don’t profit off of it I can definitely see the possibility of it being blocked by politicized and bought health officials. Plus, the misinformation and the years of Putin vilification from the Dems. I don’t know how it would play out. One thing that has already been well-established is that America puts the financial well-being of billionaires in front of the lives of ordinary people.

That’s borderline irrelevant but you know How often do you hear Americans talk about winning WW2 If Russia saves the day our propaganda machine will try its best to rewrite the story. To me it would be more predictable than ironic but I get what you’re saying. How ironic would it be if America got first dibs on the vaccine because Trump hasn’t bowed to Cold War era anti-Russian hysteria?

Yeah. I posted on this way back. The CDC has been politicized. I don’t really know how deep it goes but it’s a huge problem for people who just want to be sane and pro-science. They’re making it so every trusted authority is tainted. It twists up the argument of being pro-science when the science is politicized to fit an agenda. Once you say you don’t trust it they can turn it on you and say you’re anti-science and you’re the conspiracy nut. It’s this hall of mirrors lunacy where one side does this ****ed up **** and then they twist it around to make the other side look like they’re the ones doing the exact same **** that they’re really doing. DeathSantis in Florida does this constantly.
It’s a total cluster**** of misinformation. Then there’s just blatant flagrant dishonesty that was so obvious like this gem from the surgeon general early on: Quote:
The CDC saying it’s safe to go back to school. WUT???? NFL teams saying they’ll play at 25% capacity. High school football with fans is already being played in the south. They got doctors and pediatricians saying it’s safe. I’m on a ramble but the basic nature of a contagion seems way beyond the ability of even supposedly highly educated Americans to understand. Still **** like temperature checks in schools. What part of asymptomatic spread is so goddamn confusing?

That was just he wanted healthcare workers to have the first crack at them so instead of just saying that he lied.

It was a lie with good intentions but it undermined trust. In country’s where people generally trust the government and are willing to be civilized and caring, like Switzerland and Australia (under 2000 and 1000 deaths respectively), they have fared much better, obviously. America’s inability to engage in sane discourse is obviously problematic. Even on the issue of Trump calling John McCain a “loser” was in context of an election result not his war effort. Sure, I don’t care about McCain in the least, but informed Trump supporters know that the MSM has mischaracterized this quote, intentionally. Then they wonder why Trump supporters constantly complain they’re fake news. It undermines their ability to get coronavirus information out to the very ones that need to be educated.
