Boris's words worried me.

Was along the lines of:

"I must level with you and the British public, many, more families are going to lose a loved one before their time."

Everything he was saying just sounded half arsed, feels like they know its worse than they're saying.

Not saying its going to be the end of the world or anything daft and its probably not helping that its the first pandemic in the social media era, just feel like that was more about stopping us from panicking.

Food for thought. I'll remain skeptically cautious. I can work from home if need be, so that's really my only worry, missing days of work since I'm contract. I have to make sure and stay away from some close friends who are a bit on the elderly side.

I think this should be the main focus for most of America. You will most likely be fine but who cares about you? Right now we need to care about them who are the elderly, infants, and those who are sick and and be compromised. That's the right way to think, Plank

First of all, you don’t need to know ****ing **** about epidemiology to be a nurse, so that person is not even remotely an authority on the matter

Second of all, no, we do not know if young people will be fine. Nobody knows the long term effects of COVID-19, because it has not even existed long enough for there to have been any actual tests or evidence to be able to say one way or another. For all we know it may cause permanent damage to the lungs or central nervous system. Hell I even saw some scientists hypothesizing that it may affect male fertility. Every time an idiot claims that we’re just guaranteed to have no issues just because some young people have recovered well in the short term, people grow less and less weary than they should be. Its ignorant and irresponsible

From what I've heard coronavirus mortality rate is about 10x higher than the standard flu.
