I did what any scientist would when asked to do something wrong – I said no and I made clear that I would not participate in any research or activity using misleading data that could get people sick or worse.

Two things that I particularly noticed:-
i) on some graphs, it looks like they are comparing like with like, until you notice that the vertical axis is different by as much as a factor of ten.
ii) to the discredit of both the US and the UK, we are right near the top of the world chart. As Brazil is now up there too, there seems to be some truth to the idea that populist male leaders have, out of their own ignorant hubris, created disasters for their respective countries. Females leaders (Merkle and the NZealand leader) have instead actually protected their citizens, by taking science-based precautions both promptly and seriously.
