Two days ago my girlfriends mother, who just recovered from an official case of Covid, suggested that they shoudl end the lockdowns and just let everybody get the virus. We were all on a family zoom call and everybody was shocked to hear that. Her reasoning was that she saw a video from a doctor who said that staying inside is bad for our immune systems and that we're going to weaken them by doing so.

I had to shut my mouth. So apparently we need to go out and get the virus so that our immune system doesn't become so weak we could end up getting viruses.

I'm so tired of this stuff.

I'm way over on the side of caution and not reopening but I also get that it’s a lose lose situation. There’s mental health and supply chain issues on the other side. There’s also that simply printing money could cause hyperinflation and the dollar could lose its global standing. That could mean not just Great Depression **** but actual famine.

Again I’m with you but we’re between a rock and a hard place and when everyone loses everyone gets pissed.

I think there’s a way out with REAL wealth redistribution and weathering the storm until there a vaccine but there’s no way. People won’t do anything sane and just. So living with the window of possibilities being what they are we can stay in the frying pan or jump in the fire.

All that said, don’t get me wrong. I think our plan should be to bunker down for at least a year. But we won’t.

I know that’s a very very bad feeling. I haven’t paid this month even but I do have it in the bank. But I’m super worried about food. Like my post above it’s rock and a hard place **** for sure. Contested evictions take a while even down here. If I can’t catch up, I just don’t know. It’s bad. I’m hoping for a miracle I guess.

I'm on board with the whole "bring the numbers down so we can accurately contact trace" plan. Ease the weight on the health care system so they can re-purpose those hands with the investigative side. Restrict businesses to only allow masked and gloves patrons. Make it a f*cking weird to look at reality but as safe as possible. The economy can't come first but also can't come second. We really need to evenly distribute resources and coddle the f*cking sh*t out of this situation until normality can come back. These "cough in my face I'm not scared" motherf*ckers are so out of whack with reality that it actually detriments pragmatic thought on how to deal.

This is what Phil Murphy wants to do and is hopefully going to do and I'm in full support even though some people in my state don't think it's enough.

Nah, I mean he was standing next to the flaming broiler and got a 105 temp, then he stepped away and got a normal temp. The point is that the managers are of course not qualified for this.
