I reckon it was something to do with Hanna, something he felt he had to be there for and devote all his time to. But who knows? I do think assuming he went to jail is very unfair; Plank has always come across as a law-abiding guy to me and I don't see any reason he would end up in the slammer.

But I guess if he did, at least he can get a cushy job in their IT section...
