How do you choose the towns you feature here? Is it by random clicking on the internet, or are you telling us a tale of your travels round the US?

To answer my own question, I saw Marion, N.Carolina, on t.v. and was struck by how attractive it looked:-

...and why was Marion on tv ? According to the "Cold Case" series I was watching, within the space of a year, two members of the same family were murdered in different incidents by different perpetrators. I wonder if, as you drive into town, the sign now reads, "Welcome to Marion - unlucky for some."

It's just what comes to my mind at the time and what I think would be a nice town or city to post :) Maybe in the future i'll travel to them and type stories about them.

Love this thread Mindfulness, I regularly read Country Living's (and other similar grandma magazines) 'Best Small Towns' listicles on their website when I'm having restless legs at night

I think Mindfulness is secretly Stephen King and is fishing for randos who just so happen to be from some small town where there's a crazy story or folktale he can turn into a book.

How about you make a list index of each post link like yaw do somehow to add to the bottom of each new post in case someone wants to look at previous cities...so they dont have to go through all the pages to check out my city posts :o:

Frownland 02-09-2020 06:01 PM

My theory is that there's a cross-country spree of terror that can be uncovered by looking at all of the crime reports from the cities that Mindfulness is posting and that he's using this thread as some kind of cryptic journal to make an untraceable note of his crimes in fear of forgetting what he risked so much to experience.

@Lisnaholic, I forgot to mention that when I lived in North Carolina, I wasted most my weekends on base getting drunk in my barracks room :/

So I never explored any cool towns like Marion :o:

OccultHawk 02-09-2020 06:54 PM

If you like parking lots that would be a great place to live.

This thread is just a build-up to Mindfulness's next small towns:-

Rockford is a great place to go play disc golf. Anna Page DGC is awesome with 3 courses on the property, and my friend who used to live there has recently moved back, so I can go there without having to stay at a bug infested hotel. I'd rather have my friends bugs.

https://grabmdiscgolf.files.wordpres...-page-park.jpg

Here's a play through of the East course which is the easiest of the 3 courses but played from the long tee pads:

Here's an interactive map, which includes the South course, which was recently updated with better pin/tee pad positions and some different lines through the tree's. It's easily the hardest of the 3:

Oh yeah, and there's Rocky Glen Off-Road park:

^ Yes, I imagine it'd be interesting. I don't think there's an equivalent town in Britain, but we do have Boreley Rectory, ("the most haunted house in England"):-

The theme song is the best part of it, but yeah. I think it was on Friday nights when I was a kid and James Garner was a household name.
