For the first time ever, I'm disappointed by D&G because he seems to have wilted under the tsunami of ridicule, deflection and willful misunderstanding that is the trademark of MB. Time to man up, D&G and plow ahead with your enthusiasm for Napoleon regardless of our united scorn! You should ask yourself, "What would Napoleon have done?"

For myself, I thought of this thread this morning as I read about a modern traveller arriving at a town on the island of Corsica (where N Bonapart was born):

Quote:
I walked down the main street, the Cours Napoleón, past the Napoleon Restaurant, and the Boutique Bonapart to the Hotel Napoleon. Every town on the island has a Hotel Napoleon.

Same book, but off topic:

Spoiler for Some Essential French:
Earlier on his trip, the writer saw this painted up on the wall of a football stadium in Marsailles: Paris, t' encule, which translates as "Up your ass, Paris,"
