I saw it alright - I just didn't feel sure how seriously he meant it. If it was just politically incorrect banter or if there was something deeper going on. The last month or two he's said a few indirect things that seemed troubling. Can't remember what. Probably something in the news thread.

I've felt pretty tired of fighting games for the last few months, but I did play a lot of DOA 5 back when it first came out on the 360. Definitely fun to mess around with for a while.

I hear it hits you in the face with paywall **** though. And now I'm remembering how much of a bitch the counter system was on DOA 4 to get down for someone with awful reflexes.

The counters are still hard to do, despite a generous active frame window. Because the game is lightning fast, as always. And while there's a lot of content in the later versions right off the disc, you have to suffer the sleazy tactic that is to parade paywalled content around on the character select screen. I wouldn't mind as much if I didn't see it if I didn't enter the store. At least you get to fight against paywalled characters, so that's cool I guess. But yeah. 90% of their strategy seems to be selling you skimpy outfits. Even though there's a lot of unlockable ones that aren't paywalled.
