Makes sense. I've definitely noticed that Americans are very keen on shorting any word or expression if they can. There's not a 100th as many of acronyms of various sorts in Danish. I've learned some bad habits here, using "tfw" and "tbh" now and then. I prefer spelling things out completely, but I'm not writing on a phone so I can easily say that.

It's more that the abbreviation is there and encourages usage for the sake of internet cred.

If I say "Danes be confused about acronyms" without specifying that it's in this thread, people will think that I'm racist.
