Look, I know I sound angry. I know some of what I said sounded questionable and I could word myself a lot better. Without the anger, though, you don't think there's a double standard for racism against whites here being acceptable because of people bringing up the past? I know there's a difference between racism and being angry at the wrong people, but let me quote someone from another forum here:

"What revenge? Calling me a cracker just for glancing over at you and your friends? Cutting in front of me in line? Pushing me aside? Thats not revenge. That IGNORANT and IMMATURE."

I just have an opinion. And my hate wasn't based on "color", just characteristics specific to race here in America. Skin color has nothing to do with it, it's cultural differences and opinion. (They're allowed to be racist- media looks away-says nothing.) If a black guy made a thread talking about racism, I'll be willing to bet that many of you would be on his bandwagon.

And one more quote for the Mexican thing. I realize the past and that this country was based on immigrants, but we gotta stop living in the past and concentrate on now. In theory, we could all go back to Europe, Africa or whatever and give the country back to the Native Americans and everything would be peachy keen. But in reality, it would disrupt things for everybody, as it's not that simple. The following person said it much better than I could.

"I agree that people should be allowed to keep their own culture, and I think that from both cultural and economic viewpoints it's a good idea to teach your children your home language, as well as let them learn English while they're here.

However, I find it a little annoying when I used to field complaints at my old job from customers who's sole problem is that we don't have someone who speaks enough Spanish for them to make a pizza order over the phone. People who speak Spanish shouldn't be discouraged from doing so, but should be more encouraged to learn English because, although I feel the average American should speak more than just English, it shouldn't be required of us to speak Spanish to socialize with our coworkers/members of our community, especially when they've had years to learn the language.
