I wrote this awhile back. I'm studying English now and having a blast learning about Renaissance writing, Modernism, and Colonial writing.

I am dabbling in writing a novel, although my level of commitment to the project is dangerously low.

Do it.

Trust me, if there's even a small part of you that wants to do it, then just get in there and don't stop until it's done. Set a quota if you have to, even if it's only one page a day. And no matter how bad it may seem as you're writing it, just keep going. The editing afterwards is where the story really comes together anyway, but without that first draft, rough as it may be, you ain't got ****.

I've been writing since childhood, but have been working on the same novel for nine years as a learning experience. I've been easily distracted by other projects and struggled to be consistent, but I do intend to be published.
