I think Justin Fashanu may have been the last one to come out still playing. Recently one of our players (see sig) came out after retirement and everyone was supportive but it is much more accepting now than it was in 1990 when Fashanu came out.

Gareth Thomas came out in Rugby. There was a German football agent a few years ago who said the German team was "a bunch of gays", and there are loads of openly gay female footballers. I don't know why there aren't any openly gay players at the top level in men's football tbh.
