Lil Nas X’s Sexed-Up ‘Montero’ Video Has Changed Everything for Queer Music Artists
I didn't (and still don't) really think this guy has enough talent to sustain a long and fruitful career, but I think he's doing some interesting and important things with the residual popularity wave he's still riding.

Kehlani Tells Her Coming Out Story on TikTok
Gotta say, I'm a little confused about "bi" people who eventually figure out they're actually gay. But people are complex I guess.

As someone who called themselves “bi” before fully coming to the realization that I’m gay, it’s not because I’m complicated it’s because I never felt queer enough to claim the title due to internalized homophobia and a platter of the societal consumption and selling of women and the female form, as well as queer community gatekeepers treating me like I’m not costumed correctly to blend in with them.
It took me a long time to determine whether I was physically and romantically attracted to women, because it seemed like a result of mainstream conditioning, of the inherent () sexualization of women’s bodies in all media. I didn’t really know for sure until I was with a woman whether my attraction was authentic or cultivated. It ****ed with me a lot. |

I get being closeted and coming to terms with your sexuality, societal pressure and all that, it's just that with bi people, I assume that they've tried both apples and oranges and decided they like both? So when someone at some point decides they like just oranges, I'm left wondering, but, wasn't there an obvious difference to you since the beginning?? Like, if you felt the real thing, what in the end you decide is for you, wouldn't that immediately cause a big alarm bell in your brain saying, wait a minute, I don't feel like this when I eat oranges, wtf was I doing there?? Is what confuses me. With bi people. Going full gay. And stuff.

But when you’ve ONLY had apples your whole life and only fantasized about oranges how do you know you’ll really like oranges once you try them????
Calling myself bi when I had still only been with men was almost like making room for there to be MORE gay in my future while keeping one foot in the familiar. Still honoring this piece that wasn’t quite figured out yet. I imagine this is the case for a lot of girls who do the bi to gay thing. |

yeah that does make sense. I like how for each gay person their experience is so different that we've all come out of the closet, but each in a unique way.
Also I think it's so complicated because romantic love, sexual attraction, sexual pleasure, and infatuation are all different things and it can be hard to tell them apart. Like I can be infatuated with a guy in a platonic crush way, and I'm not sure I couldn't get sexual pleasure from a guy if it would be one I really liked.
