After what happened at the pride parade (mentioned in previous posts), I spoke to my mom about it and said that even living in New Zealand I fear going out holding hands with a girlfriend as there are so problematic people out there who have literally beaten couples (regardless of their gender) over it.
On another note, I am genderfluid and go by she/her/they. I present as very feminine but want people to take my genderfluidness seriously. I explain my pronouns but it goes over people's heads. Anyone got any advice regarding this?

Tbh I think trans men and women who... "commit" to their "chosen" gender are just going to get more traction at least with non-psychos for the same reason bisexuals aren't taken as seriously as straight up homosexuals. Providing a clear distinction helps to crystallize in people's minds an alternative. So basically not being taken as seriously is probably just going to happen.
Not really advice just a perspective.

As to the bashers many psychotherapists who’ve had ‘queer bashers’ referred to them by the courts learn the majority are repressing their own ambiguous sexual identity. |

Btw Melbourne is today known as one of the most liberal cities in the world but I wonder if that's a relatively new thing, say of the past couple of decades? Did it have a reputation as bohemian and open-minded in the 1980-90s?

Down the road was The Devil’s Inn catering to the gay crowd, and our followers, where horrible coffee was also served along with very nasty toasted (read burnt) raisin bread . The music was loud with hysterical queens dancing on tables. At closing time we'd often invite attendees home to our flat nearby where the coffee was better and the sex was - - - -well, I’ll leave that to your foetid imaginations. Why the hell does the idiot software here forbid us typing ‘dyk*s’ ? Last edited by Ayn Marx; 06-18-2022 at 08:56 PM. |

I get some strange emails with strange links but this one came from I don’t know who, listed as not having a return address. Maybe it came from one of those naughty little pixies on Music Banter’s rock section, or maybe from Queer Corner ?
https://rocknheavy.net/who-has-the-b...k-6217ec3e5e27 Anyhow, here’s my favourite. He could have parked his boots under my bed any day even if, as I suspect, that thing was airbrushed in. . Last edited by Ayn Marx; 06-19-2022 at 03:12 AM. |
