**** a job. There are probably jobs I could enjoy but this "career" is not it. TBH in my line of work the idea of liking your job is ****ing toxic, and you'd be surprised how many minimum wage slaves claim to like their job. Really what they mean is that they like the people they work with but if you press them they'll admit that the job itself means nothing to them, but they buy into the notion of liking their job nonetheless. If why you "like" your job is because of your coworkers then you don't like your job, you just like your coworkers, and if you're some dumb **** who says they like their job because it makes them money then you're even worse, because liking the ability to support yourself is not liking your job it's liking not starving to death.

This is hypocritical because I gave Kiii **** for saying he likes his job

But I like my new job. I’m in the kitchen at a high end restaurant. It’s not a chain, obviously. I’m learning so much about food and the atmosphere in the kitchen is like a good school the managers and chefs want to teach you new things. They’re also very kind and patient. And the high level people consult with the low level. It’s not like just formulated recipes. The recipes vary based on availability and the cooks and chefs discuss what they need and what they can do with the next order of food. Compared to teaching it’s very democratic and non-hierarchical. And at least verbally everyone even the dishwashers are treated with respect.

elph I don’t want you think that softens my stance against private property

Maybe it’s only because compared to what I’m used to in education it’s far less oppressive and depressing but yeah I like it there

I don’t want to be there so much or so long but I do feel happiness when I’m there

Compared to teaching where it reached the point that I felt like I’d literally rather die than go to work it’s a huge relief that I can work and not feel like killing myself

I thought it was impossible

I'd then have to explain that I don't respect his position while trying to explain that no matter how I felt about him as a person my position was about the existence of his position in the first place and now I'm fired.

I'm now fascinated by the idea of Mic's co-workers reading my words and associating them with him. Why the **** would he want that?

It's surprising that a non-chain job wouldn't have the same aspects of a corporate or government job? Why would this surprise you? I'd be happy to at least give that kind of job a shot.

I never had a job in America that wasn’t totally ****ing fascist before. Ever.

I was free as a bird in Japan, though. I was taking all kinds of pills and getting drunk. I’d be out of my skull “teaching” lessons. Which basically meant showing up and being the gaijin clown. When things were at their best I couldn’t believe I was getting paid to do that ****. It was just benzos booze and j-bitches

I think it would be pretty obvious that when corporate or government masters weren't involved that it would be much easier to feel like a human being in a job.

I'd love to do some environmentalist grunt work but that kind of volunteer **** seems to be all about school field trips where I am.
