And the term 'white privilege' is used to separate it's self from other tribal biases our country practices since it's only speaking of the racial bias which happens to be stronger than our biases on religion, class and what ever else.

To name it 'majority privilege' or even 'racial privilege' is the same kind of side stepping in an effort to protect the feelings of people who are for some reason offended by the idea that they have a bias in their favor.

Do you think if a switch was flipped and racism ceased to exist in America that white people would suddenly lose white privilege? There is a nuance to this that you either dont get or disagree with: whiteness as an inherent privilege vs a society that functions in a way that white people tend to have an advantage over other races.

If you are a white person in a society that tends to give an advantage to white people, then yeah, whiteness is a privilege. A privilege that we call 'white privilege'.

If white privilege truly existed in the black and white way most people describe it then a white man with a criminal record would still have an easier time getting a job over a black man with no criminal record.

That's cool until you realize that whiteness isn't the only factor that contributes to the advantages white people have in this country. When people use the term "white privilege" it refers to a lot of things that go beyond race, which is why white privilege will still exist if racism magically vanished. Making the conversation and terminology about race detracts from the larger problem. I agreed with Batlord that it does a good job of getting people talking and bringing up the surrounding issues, but it's still a racebaitey term.

Yes, but it's still an issue that is very tied to race in a way and with issues that are different from the privilege of the middle/upper classes over the lower classes or other facets of the larger problem so it's still important to specify the racial aspect. It's race baity largely because people in general get defensive when their position in society that they've seen as normal for their whole life is called into question, not because pointing out the racial issue in the terminoloby is inherently provocative.

It's like Black Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter.

How do you know it's only white people? Because you assume everyone on the internet is white? I've certainly seen black people on Youtube argue for white privilege.
