Default What Drives You?

What gets you through the day, makes you want to better yourself, or strive for more? What keeps you going when times are tough, gives you the strength to carry on? Is it family, friends, spouse? A feeling that you're destined for big things? Arrogance? Love? A desire to change things, perhaps even yourself? A desire to be better? Some figure you looked up to, who is now no longer here, and to whom you attribute your attitude? Or is it a ****-you attitude? You against the world? Or have you given up on ever making your mark, achieving your goals, and settled for what you can get?

This hits home. Basically how I live my life now but just a tad bit less depressing than you make it sound. I've just accepted what I've got and have left it at that. I've become accustomed to a simpler life style and it's certainly nice not worrying about a lot of stuff all at once.

I kind of feel (inevitable smart comments aside) this is what most of us are going to say. I mean, I still retain my hope of someday being published as a writer, and will do my best to work towards that, but anything else is obviously out of my reach now. Nevertheless, if there are two things that drive me, or at least get me out of bed every morning, they're Karen and my mam. Want both to be proud of me. Still working towards that, too.

Stupidity, mostly.

I guess curiosity, a desire to express myself and a desire to improve myself drives me. Actually, there's probably a lot of stuff I don't even understand that drives me, but there are things that I know occupy a lot of space in my thoughts and makes me feel motivated.

Hedonism and curiosity.

That's bound to be a powerful combo.

Yeah. I decided to take a simpler outlook when I became single a few years ago and since then I've just been constantly cutting things out of my life that I really don't need. It's so much easier when you have close to no connections to anything stressful.

I achieved a lot in life... for a lazy, nihilistic ****.

I spend so much time alone that the social aspect couldn't possibly be what drives me. If it was, I'd be knee deep in depression 24/7.

I get interested in something and then feel a great sense of motivation to delve into whatever it is. So like any good nerd, my obsessions are what drive me. Might be a game I'm working on, finding new music, watching a lot of movies, learning something or reading a book or whatever else.

These past few weeks, I've been totally mentally occupied with making a game, finding interesting games on Steam and watching game design related videos on youtube.
