Default Joining a Commune
Something I've fantasized about for a while now. I just want to escape the rat race and live in a community of individuals who don't want anything to do with modern society and form a community who value people and not consumerism. Pretty vague but I have no familiarity with the concept.

Does anyone have any insights and possibly advice on exiting society and joining a community that isn't a cult?

Not who I was expecting to start a thread like this but I'm not totally against the idea of something like this either. I've always wondered what life would be like if all modern technology and advances weren't needed. I imagine we'd be a lot happy as a socety. Only issue is that itd be really hard to revert back when we're so cushioned by modern technology and societal standards.

Bruh I can't stand you humans with your bull**** and your obsession with such bull**** as "society" and "Protestant work ethic" (literally the most oppressive concept of modern human society). I ****ing hate yard work but if I have to do that **** and grow crops to eat or whatever the **** and never have to work for a paycheck another day in my life then it would be like a lifelong vacation.

I honestly would not be opposed to that as I actually enjoy yard work. I sooooo feel like the human race is becoming so used to modern society that as a whole, we are becoming less interesting in actually evolving and more interested in not caring anymore. Plus. The stupidity rate is off the charts. And I work with people.

I want to have nothing to do with rent, mortgages, equity, credit score, or anything having to do with living in a capitalist society. I just want to be able to justify my ability to live in a community by my desire to contribute to a collective who I feel are worth contributing to to the point that I want to contribute more than I feel like I have to because it will make all of our lives better and more enjoyable. I want my justification to live in a community be something that I don't feel the need to justify. I just do it because it feels good and makes my fellow inhabitants' lives better in a tangible way. I don't even know what that means but god damn it there must be someone who does who's not a ****ing cult leader.
