Vista 1975 Moves away from the aggressive free Coltrane influenced sound into smooth production laid back fusion somewhat in the style of Alice Coltrane. Harold Budd composed and played on the track Bismillahi 'Rrahmani' Rrahim. |

Cat Power is from Atlanta
This is my favorite song of hers |
Mastodon (from Atlanta) |
Enjoy me some don. Not a huge fan of the recent direction they took from The Hunter on though.
|
tttt they never hit the sweet spot with me
|
They're perfectly fine but even Blood Mountain was a pop prog metal decent release.
They got several songs on that album that are legit the **** though, and "Capillarian Crest" is one of them. Edit: Actually upon listening to it again "Capillarian Crest" is pretty mediocre which calls into question literally every good opinion I've ever had about Mastodon. They might just be painfully mediocre as a whole. |
Upon further review Blood Mountain is baby's first metal album and is just kind lame. Kinda like how people pretend Master of Puppets is the best metal album ever.
|
Capillarian Crest has pretty sick widdly diddlies, come on now.

Not really. It's a pretty pedestrian song that sounds like a band with kind of ideas made a song that makes them sound like a band that doesn't have any ideas. Like the complete normalness of the song makes it clear that whatever creativity went into it had no actual vision. It's just kind of a ****ing song.
I'm gonna assume you liked this band at a younger age and nostalgia is coloring your opinion. |
