How do you manufacture a cheap broom? In Mexico, part of the answer is that you thread the low-quality wooden handle and screw it into the cheap plastic broom head. This arrangement is quite likely to shake apart while you're still in the supermarket car park, let alone when you push the thing around the floor. So when it fell apart I effected the following repair:-

i) drill a hole transversely through the head/handle junction
ii) slather the joint with glue
iii) screw the handle back into the head
iv) run a bolt through the transverse hole and tighten it up with a nut

All I have to do now is decide which is more satisfying: a) having a broom a thousand times stronger than the one I bought, or b) bragging about it on MB

I last repaired one of my 8 tracks :) (Oldies but goodies Vol 3)

The pad was bad so I opened the cartridge and replaced it with a good one....

Whats that frown a big drum??

There might be a more regionally appropriate name for it, but I'm calling it a djembe. Got it at an antique store for 10 bucks then dropped it when I was taking it home, breaking it into four pieces. It was acrylic, so I glued it back together with superglue and used wood glue to seal the cracks. Sounds good, especially after leaving it in the sun for a while.

I fixed one of my VHS tapes this morning :)

It fell on the floor months ago and when I played this morning it showed signs of studdering (Spools not turning properly) When the movie was over I FFed it and I could really see it!!!!!

I Rewinded it and took it apart and the thing behind the spools that control thier forward/reverse motion was broken.... Thankfully I have several blank tapes.....I just put the spools into the other shell and she plays well :)

I DIDNT WANNA LOSE THE MOVIE ON THAT TAPE!! (Cant be replaced... Recorded from analogue cable in the 90s and I love the movie!!)
