The Flu 2018
The talk I'm hearing about this year's flu epidemic is scaring the buhjesus outta me, esp. since I'm shut in with about 65 or so seniors. I'm hearing this is a particularly nasty flu bug, what have you guys heard in your area?

I think we've had around 150 deaths from it in SD.

Bad innit.
I had it, been about two weeks, the first couple days were the worst. Took Ibuprofen and Paracetamol for those days then was OK. Just a cough and blocked nose now. Those first two days were horrific though. |

I've never had the flu and I've never had the flu shot. I rarely get sick and when I do, my body fights that **** off in 24 hours. I've woken up vomiting a few times over the last three years where I was achy and feverish and in 24 hours it's gone. Very strange.
Tune in next week when Exo dies of the flu. |

Both Karen and I get the flu shot every year, though I hear tell this new strain is resistant to the current vaccination. Heard also that some teenager died of it over here. Consequently, every time Karen tells me she's feeling sick I worry, but so far nothing. Fingers crossed: if she got this in her immune-weakened state, well, it could be the end. Which reminds me: I should ring her doctor for advice.
Edit: Damn! Busy....

I've never had the flu shot either. I figured why get the flu for taking a flu shot. I explained that to my new doctor and she was like," that's your body fighting off the dead virus.". Um, yeah, by making me sick.
