iPod help
For anyone with an iPod and iTunes...who can help...
I just bought an iPod. Having a crusty old win98 pc i have to take my ipod gear round to a family members house to use their XP version. I installed iTunes on their comp and plugged it all in. I put my Nirvana cd in and imported it to the library. So far so good. Then i proceed to update it to the iPod. I have a look...its in there, wahoo. Now i delete the Nirvana cd from the library thinking i won't need it anymore, and to keep things tidy. I then insert a Soundgarden cd. I import the contents to the library. Thats done. Then i update it to my iPod. When i look through the iPod i find soundgarden is there, but Nirvana is gone. I want to know how to stop the music being erased from my iPod. I know i could leave everything in the library but i cant as its not my computer. So in a couple of weeks time when i get a new cd i want to add to my collection, how can i keep from losing all that music on the ipod without having to load it all back onto the computer just to add my one new cd? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Connect iPod to your PC
2. Open up iTunes to show your music library. 3. Go to Edit. Under Edit, click Preferences. 4. There's a bunch of tabs at the top (General, iPod, Audio, etc.) Go to the one that says iPod. 5. Under Music, click "Manually Manage songs and playlists". This way you don't have to keep all your crap on your computer.

I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |
