Default Should I Go?
So, I went to school with a guy named Cody. We were fairly tight back then, but I've only talked to him maybe twice in the 11 years since we graduated. A year or 2 ago, he got arrested for having child porn [he showed no signs of this kind of behavior back in the day]. Earlier this week, he committed suicide. I'm conflicted on whether or not to attend his funeral. If he hadn't been busted for kiddy porn, I would definitely go. Would you go?

Go, but make sure that none of the kids involved are planning on going. That would be awkward.

I'd go. He was your friend, however flawed he may have been. Just because you attend a funeral of someone with child porn doesn't mean you're like that too.
