Media fad. It's sad and gross that that's what this boils down to (but I don't disagree).

It's deeply disheartening to me that the reaction turned so quickly from "let's smoke out all the ****bags" to "I'm so over it, can we stop talking about this already".

I certainly understand WHY everyone is tired of it. It's the same news story, the same arguments, the same feeling of disgust every week when you find out someone whose work you admired is a scumbag, but at the same time, we need to confront this issue as a society aggressively and large-scale to hope to change it.

In one month we've circled back around to sweeping victims under the rug because we're tired of hearing about it. Absolutely nothing to be gained by doing that.

And that didn’t hurt Tosh either. He shouldn’t have apologized. Tosh was different because it wasn’t staged.

Ja it didn't hurt him and I think we should press hecklers as hard as we can but I was just thinking that you connected the two scenarios. I also think it's pretty likely that Comedy Central pressed him to make that apology and he wouldn't have posted it if he was just doing standup and movies.
