Actually, the Quiet Man with John Wayne was set in Ireland. Of course, he didn't know how to do accents so they made him an American from Pittsburgh. I don't know how they got around that when he played Genghis Khan.

I just finished listening to the audiobook of Ulysses a few hours ago and it makes me want to vote for Scotland.
^ HaHa! Well, that wins my respect. I've never attempted that book despite its huge reputation. I can imagine it would test your patience to listen to all that rambling. I pity the poor guy(s) who had to read it all out loud.
Myself, I just stuck with The Dubliners which is a very straightforward read - plus, I've listened to this many times, which surely makes me a total expert on JJ:-
Another book I could mention here is Angela's Ashes, but I suppose Oriphiel will dismiss that one as well because there is no sword-fighting in it.
