I don't see it. I can see a sort of definite "target indentified" mentality with Frownland. As an example, just about any thread I create he has to have a snarky go at almost right away. It gets wearing I can tell you.

I should make it clear this really has nothing to do with you being a mod, it's kind of to explain to the likes of Occult why I don't like you.

Frownland, the problem I have with you is your arrogance, which is big enough to fill several galaxies. You don't seem to be able to comprehend the fact or allow for the possibility that though you may love artist A, someone else might not, and if this happens you automatically label them as either "not getting it", "lazy", "ignorant" or (my personal favourite) "having no taste." I've even tried: when I came back here in 2011 I still said stupid, ignorant things like "jazz is crap", "extreme metal is terrible" and "punk is just noise". Some of that I kind of still maintain, but I have taken the time and made the effort to at least explore these genres, even if minimally. Sometimes I've been surprised by what I found, often not, but I always allow that it's just "not for me", not that it's crap. Hell, I'm even giving hip-hop a fair shake through my new thread.

You, though, decide that whatever I listen to is crap specifically because you don't like it. That should not matter. I won't like everything you like and vice versa, but I don't go out of my way to tell you how crap Shabazz Palaces or whatever is; I accept it's not for me, you enjoy it so good luck. I don't tell you you have terrible taste for enjoying something I don't. You though, do this all the time. Listen, you can hate Genesis and Marillion all you like, it's no skin off. But you should accept that I like them, and that does not make my taste inferior to yours.

I even tried meeting you halfway on Beefheart, and all I got was "Oh you're only into the safe stuff". So I am. So what? It's almost as if you didn't want me to get into Beefheart (don't worry: I never really did) because that would remove one of the sticks you like to use to beat me with. Although you give the impression that you want me to be into the music you're into (to "improve my taste", as I'm sure you'd refer to it), when I do, you act all snarky (there's a surprise!) whether I like it or not. Like I said, it's as if you don't want your weapons taken away from you. You can have your music: I don't care. But when you accuse me of various things from being close-minded to having inferior, or no taste, just because I don't like your music, that's when I realise there really is no common ground between us, and never will be.

You should at least try to wipe that slate clean because a lot of the time I try to have a legitimate music discussion with you and you just try to shut it down with "why do you hate me so much?" and that's annoying as ****.

Also, I will believe that things are crap because I don't like them because how the **** else would I come to that conclusion? However, if pressed I won't just leave it at crap and will give you specific reasoning related to the music because we're on a music discussion forum and goddamnit that's how it should work around here.
