I think he's just a genuinely smart dude and when that's paired with the meathead image, it comes off as pretension.

I think he'd fit right in on this forum tbh. He's opinionated, arrogant, probably loves to argue, almost certainly hates way more people than is healthy, and you know he doesn't have any friends and just hangs out in his house all day.

As douchey as Henry Rollins can be he's equally likeable tbh and pretty funny. It makes all the difference that he's self-aware.
