Trollheart, straight up, this is the perfect opportunity for you to buy a trained helper monkey. Not only could it relay messages and items between you two, but it would also be adorable as fuck.

I'm sorry that I don't have anything useful to contribute. I had no idea what was really going on with your sister and I feel very sorry for you and her. I really hope you can find a solution that works at least as well as what you had before.
Googling for a while did lead me to this: Voice Activated Call Systems Help Residents with Physical Limitations Scroll down to the headline "Physically Impossible". They even mention MS. |

The first thing I thought of was the Echo. Once you set it up, all she'd have to do is say: "Alexa, call Deryck". If you need any help let me know. I just got one myself last Saturday, and they're neat little gadgets.

As usual, the simplest solution never presents itself till someone else gets involved. Talk about a low-tech solution! One of her carers posed the question, if she can't see the pendant cos it's down too low (around about her elbow) why not just shorten the cord so that the pendant is closer to her and doesn't swing out of her reach? Duh! Felt like a right idiot! But we've done it and for now, it seems to work. This will of course only be while she is able to exert the kind of pressure you need to actually press the button. After that goes (and it will) we need to start thinking of alternatives, so I'll be checking out all your kind suggestions. Thanks to all who got involved. Except Ori. He's a ****. TH

I wasn't joking. How was I supposed to know that you have an irrational hatred of helper monkeys?

I think you should probably go with a baby monitor and something like echo.
Tough situation. You're a good man.

I have nothing to add, but good luck with that ****. I don't know how I'd deal with it and not go crazy.
