The 80-second long video featured a group of African American protesters led by a muscular African American man wearing a tank top and speaking in a rough and vulgar tone as he described the gap between rich and poor as the main cause of their outrage.

I wonder how they came to the conclusion it really boils down to socioeconomics? That’s outrageous! It doesn’t have anything to do with rich white people hoarding all the wealth and property and profiting off the suffering of the poor who are disproportionately black.

Aside from the ghetto thug and bluesman stereotypes I believe the criticism was that nothing was said about police brutality or George Lloyd. I don't think anyone with sense would complain about economics being put forth as a major factor.

Well, speaking to the people from African countries that have been living there long term, they experience a lot of open racism on a daily basis. My friend's friend and classmate got hounded by police for being black and having a rubber in his wallet asking "Are you going to **** Japanese girls with this?". Also spoke to a dude outside a karaoke bar that had been living there for a decade, had a kid with a woman there, and her parents didn't like him only because he's black.

Japan is racist af. But otoh it’s not like they shipped them over against their will.

The cartoon was meant for kids as a real quick overview of the situation probably intended to give a broad explanation as quickly as possible. You got three minutes. Do you explain why they’re pissed off this time or explain the situation?

Another thing is that American liberals always want to export their beliefs about multiculturalism to Europe and Asia. American whites live on occupied land that was founded on genocide and built with 400 years (yes, right up to today) of slavery. That’s a double holocaust just to build the foundation. Still, with astonishing arrogance we wag our fingers at countries like China and Burma as if they’re the ones who shouldn’t safeguard their existence.

By your logic no one has to care about multiculturalism so why care about the Injuns and the blacks? I mean if it's okay for Japan to be racist why isn't okay for us?
