Every job seems to suck.

I've been self employed for 25 years but before that had lots of different jobs (usually hospitality or care work) and definitely some jobs sucked a lot more than others. Now things are much better. Never rule out going into business - it can take a long time to get momentum but you can try and get something started while you work at the job you hate.

It's crazy how deeply ingrained wage fear is. No matter how horrible work it. No matter how devastating it is to your mental health. People still say stick with it. It's very disturbing. It's odd people don't see it as a primary source of oppression.

Weird how people like to eat and have a roof over their head, huh? **** that, right?

There's no answer. But it can reach a point where work is worse than deprivation.

I doubt the millions of unemployed, who would probably kill for your "crappy" job, would agree.

Their well-being means nothing to me. I don't hate them. I just don't care about them either way. I certainly don't give a **** how my work ethic affects their day to day.

I'm pretty confident this applies to just about everyone you interact with, given your posts here. Man up, for ****'s sake. I worked for nearly 30 years and now I'm looking after my disabled sister for the rest of her life. You think you have it bad? Jesus.

I didn't say that. But if you were forced to work with them every day, you'd realize that your "bad job" isn't all that bad. And perhaps with the attitude you convey here, you're quite possibly the ****ty coworker that others have to put up with.

OccultHawk 05-22-2017 05:09 PM

There it is. Be grateful you even have a bone.

You know what? **** that.

I don't care if I am.

Hey, I'm just doing what the government wants me to do to get by. Screaming about it won't get you anywhere. Take the situation by its horns and take control. Don't complain and do nothing. I'm just trying to help you, honestly. I worked a ****ty job like you are now for 3.5 years until I was fed up. Instead of complaining, I took it into my own hands and quit. Now I have a job that I actually like.

Sorry, quoted wrong post.

OccultHawk 05-22-2017 05:12 PM

Yeah who knows?

Janszoon 05-22-2017 05:28 PM

I'm happy with my job and I get along with my coworkers really well. It is possible.

Occult has a right to hate it, in fact, I'd say it's the only logical response

And if you have the luxury of being able to just quit, you're likely not in the social class that does the real work

Bolded hits it on the head. Few people want to work (other than beer testers, bra measurers, bikini inspectors etc) but most of us have no choice. Likelihood is that if we could, none of us would work, but we don't live in that kind of world.
And if we did...
