I think you'll find this does not take place in Dublin, the operative words being "country roads". It's the same as if you heard something hick was taking place in Hicksville Nebraska and you're in San Francisco or New York. Not as big as yours, but still a big country and the muck savages do things different down there.

Seen a long segment on Road Bowling when Bourdain was over there doing No Reservations. Looks like a simply awesome excuse to drink.

Although I did hear that just waking up in the morning is a simply awesome excuse to drink for you folk. :)

Yep. Drinking is an awesome excuse to drink. As Ben Elton (I think) once said, the Irish for "Immediately" is "What's your hurry? There's time for another pint!" :D

Well, chula (with a fada; ("fodda": can't show it here but it's basically a slanting accent going across the top of a letter, like a backslash) means back, I think, so if you changed your username to Chula na Vista it would certainly look more Irish. :)

Oh yeah: the other half of the joke was, Irish definition of "urgent", see "immediately" !!

No, Ireland is not a big country. Ireland is a shack on the sea.

Chula Vista in Irish would be "Radharc Álainn," which sounds like an alien Capt. Kirk would encounter.
