After over six years of enduring high anxiety, nervous tics, and a variety of other unpleasantries, I finally took ownership of my health and looked up the side effects of my many medications and discovered that ten of my symptoms were actually side effects of the meds I take to function.
I worked with my doc to finally decrease some of the dosages and am already feeling much better. And as a nice bonus, I discovered last night that I am no longer lactose intolerant - it was just a side effect of a script.
The other big accomplishment is that I followed through on my decision from my last long-term relationship to never let myself be emotionally, financially, and physically abused ever again. I endured it for six years with my ex and when the same circumstances became evident with my wife I put my foot down and insisted that she take measures to improve her poor mental health or that I would leave her. I'm happy to say that slowly but surely she is taking those steps and things are getting better.
It's been a good year.
