I listen to the odd true crime thing here and there, mostly Casefile cause they're good at building suspense, don't do too much editorializing and I love the host's Australian accent.

Anyway, listened to their series on the Golden State Killer or however you call him months before he was caught, and can't say I was entirely surprised when it turned out to be a cop. Had the Sacramento LE listened to the cop who came close to arresting him in Visalia, lives could've been saved.

Joseph James DeAngelo (Golden state killer) comes to mind as well as Dennis Nielsen, though I guess the latter's stint in the police was relatively brief.

And more as well as several undiscovered ones, I'm sure.
