Default Roosh V protests in Europe.

Roosh V: protesters vow to disrupt Edinburgh, Glasgow events - Edinburgh Evening News

I'm by no means a PUA, but I do follow what happens to Roosh because I find the whole outrage behind what he does to be quite deranged, and based entirely on thin skins, ideological bias and a lack of fact checking. He's consistently smeared for saying things that he didn't.

Sure, he wrote thought experiment type of article in which he proposed the idea that we could 'make rape legal if done on private property.' But this is of course taken out of context.

Like I said, I'm not on board with what Roosh has to say, I am merely opposed to the way in which people go out of their way to chastise him and use what he has said (out of context) to push their own ideology.

Things to watch:

I get the feeling he enjoys the notoriety. I'm sure any protest increases his web traffic tenfold.

And to reiterate, I'm by no means a Roosh fan. I'm just not a fan of media hysteria surrounding him, the lack of an attempt to even tell the whole story and the general trend of any type of male group or identity being looked negativity upon.

Asking "Why do you care so much?" is always somewhat stupid in a discussion thread, but that's kinda what I want to ask here.
I mean yeah, the hysteria is moronic. There were articles titled "this man wants his right to rape" popping up on a German "news" site I sadly have to visit sometimes.
But the media always do this hysterical, one-sided crap about pretty much everything they can twist enough to make people all angry and self-righteous.
Him being basically a troll still makes me feel little to no compassion.
He trolled idiots and he got said idiots to rage about it. Mission accomplished.
Is this **** really worth getting upset about? It's just the worst of the internet spilling over into the real world, like it sadly does more and more often. He is just as much a strawman for people who hate MRAs as his opponents here are for the people who hate the so-called feminazis.

Yeah the guy's basically a professional troll. He probably makes more money being banned from a country than he would if he had to actually travel there.

I'm more interested in the wider spread lack of discussion when it comes to men's issues. I mean, this is a meeting for men who want to learn how to sleep with women. The fact that thousands of men feel the need to go to seminars put on by a guy like Roosh highlights the fact that maybe there's some problem with gender relations at this point in time.

The hysterical reaction also highlights that some people have such a low view of men that they believe a group of men would actually want to legalise rape, which is seriously worrying. Or that there are people who are invested in intentionally stirring this up to serve their own agenda, knowing the facts and blindly ignoring them.

Also I thought the video was funny.

So how about actually adressing those men's issues instead of being all up in trolling and pick up? Campaign against circumcision, for fairer custody rulings, against stupid quotas. You'd have my respect and recognition. But don't repeat the mistakes of the feminists you hate so much by simply whining about how you are such an oppressed minority and don't get what you rightfully deserve. (By "you" I obviously don't mean you personally, just some hypothetic MRA.)

There sure are some big problems with gender relations, but I seriously doubt people who go to those seminars are particularly worried about them.
They just want to manipulate women into having sex with them.

Well, ****ed up views on rape are quite widespread. Arguments in the vein of "Why did she put on such a short skirt if she didn't want to get raped?" are very, very common. Sure it's still a stretch towards campaigning to legalize rape, but not as big a stretch as one might think.
And sure there are those people with their agenda. As I said, not a fan of all the hysteric feminism at all. Still doesn't make me have any sympathy for any side in this silly argument.

Well I did create the MRA thread but it kinda wore off. But I certainly agree with you. I sometimes forget to mention the obvious things you said
