My graduating class was like 100 people. Grew up playing sports with the popular kids but I wouldn't say I was one. Most of my high school was pretty cool with a few standout *******s and nerds. I was also one of the biggest kids in my school and had a lot of older friends I partied with so even when I was in chess club no one messed with me.

School was really tough for me because of my mom, but it all changed when I started playing guitar at 14. Was a flat out school rock star by 16.

We don't really have this whole jock/nerd dichotomy here, although being good at sports, especially football, might help your popularity and provide you with a clique.
I'm good with people, although I like to keep some distance, so I'm usually relatively well-liked, but not friends with everyone in the room. I was pretty popular in grades 1 to 4. After that there are three possible types of school you can go, depending on how stupid you are. 5th grade was okay, I had some friends, but didn't really feel like I belonged with all those new people. Had to change schools once again after that. Since the cliques there had already formed, I once again didn't feel like I really belonged, although I still had a bunch of friends. Those were grades 6 to 8, maybe 9. After that it got steadily better, the classes were shuffled a little and grades 10 to 13 were simply amazing. We were a tight-knit group, had tons of fun, pretty much everyone got along. Love reminiscing about that time, still friends with a lot of people from back then.
