Why does there seem to be a stigma attached to advocate for Men's Rights?

I'm all about respecting people and their wishes, but I also don't believe that cultural appropriation has any sort of clear protocol. Why are foods, music, art, and words fine to appropriate, but clothing and symbols are off-limits?
