Best/Worst passive aggressive compliment I ever got was:
'Good looking people always have mental problems.'

Said in my general vicinity, but directed at me.
Was funny at the time. And, I'm glad I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Now Im old and hideous and plagued with the same ol problems. lol

If they're feeling that bad/insecure, to insult someone who isn't doing anything to them, why feed into their combative role playing? Just brush your shoulder and walk on. It was kinda cute, in a way.
